"The product is the best, their training and corporate executives were all aout people and development. Fun working environment that challenged you and motivated you. Had great perspectives of continued growth"

"When acquired by luxottica, there was a lack of structure and not people oriented at all; cut down on essentials and lack of information makes it very frustrating to accomplish one's personal development."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Motivation and better communication. Invest on payroll so stores well staffed can accomplish goals and profitability"

"Responsibilities: In charge of 9 PHA sites an= total of 139 guards. I assigned weekly schedules."

"Make sure you get the salary up front because there will not be a review to make it maraculously move upward after being hired."

"The pay scales are based on some ancient formula and not on what was really taking place."

"Pay your people fairly and they will be willing to work harder and stay later."

What do you like about working at Oakley?

"I really enjoyed the product, the amount of resources dedicated to process development (equipment and machinery) and the ease of managing your own time and progress, as well as the informal environment. I think it is a great place to work."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you have issues with hI useless levels of politics and or if you are serious about applying management and process control theories and technical criterias, I would reconsider applying for Oakley.If you want to have a good time and don't care to much about what I said above, go for it, it is a grate company and very stable."

What don't you like about working at Oakley?

"I think that the Senior management skills need improvements. The roles, position boundaries, respect for other people positions and accountability are at large a problem, is hard to understand what is expected from you and when, you have to guess who is leading an effort and learn after a crisis that your input or action was needed."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Although no system is perfect, I think that management need to get some serious training in Team Building (Team building is not go party), Prevention and crisis Management.By doing that I hope management can understand how important is to have a better definition (never perfect) of every body expectations so resources are utilized in a more efficient way.Another area that could be improved is the process development and product launch to production, most of the late production issues are due to a lack of process controls, which are totally predictable events within the process/product design stages.This area is very obscure and It seems that Oakley has created a whole department for the lack of accountability of another, without the proper empowerment and or authority from this new virtual department, that only create confusion and a reactive culture that is very hard to cope with."

"Must be able to work in casual work place but with a pronounced corporate structure."

"Communication is very poor, with a relatively high turnover rate."

"Improve communication so that people can do their jobs more effectively."

"When interviewing for Oakley remember that you will become everyone's best friend. You will find out that you had friends you never met before but when they want Oakley product you are very popular."

What don't you like about working at Oakley?

"There were no rules at the company. At any given time you would see someone riding the Harley through the building or kicking back at in their office drinking."

"The company has gone through a dramatic change since I worked there so management has brought back the professional atomsphere to the company."

I had the opportunity to learn about the great history of Oakley as a brand and witnessed so many touching testimonies of how our eyewear has helped or improved their lives. I've has the pleasure of meeting great people and had the chance to travel to places like Hong Kong and China. For the past 5 years, Oakley has opened many doors for me. Great company!"

"I've worked for Oakley for almost 2 months now. The work pace is pretty fast once all the tools are given. There is hardly any down time because there are many orders to be filled that get shipped out to various vendors. There is great communication between all teams as well as leads and supervisors. Keeping communications with everyone is a big key to our production because we help each other out to solve all of our problems so we can continue with our production so we can meet our quotas."
