"I like to work with the soldiers and I feel that I have done when the soldiers move in ranks. A lot of soldiers came to me to get this done or find information they need. What I hate is that higher ranking persons don't know what is going on, and they hate being wrong."

"The ability to always move up based on your performance."

"Only bring Marines that want to be on recruiting duty."

"Frequently working 12-14 hour days, not much time to workout."

"Set specific hours of operation and better communication with subordinates."

What do you like about working at Army National Guard?
"Very constructive, team-oriented environment. Opportunity to work autonomously without anyone micromanaging or looking over your shoulder. Military mentality means everyone in the office pulls their weight - there's no worry about having to make up for slackers' lack of work ethic."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Bring your A-game and be prepared to be away from your family a LOT. If you can handle the stress of writing code at 0300 in the morning and running on 3-4 hours of sleep, you'll never find a better place to work. If that sounds anything less than exhilarating to you, you're looking in the wrong place."
What don't you like about working at Army National Guard?
"Due to the nature of my position, there is very little room for in-house promotion or advancement. Also, being a government job, I am near the bottom of the salary bracket for the type of work I do (especially considering the security clearance I hold and the amount of personal information I regularly handle) and the amount of time I put in (often working nearly 24/7 for weeks on end)."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Honestly, absolutely none. For the first time in my adult life, I can honestly say I am working with and under the finest men and women I've ever met. Our command team is incredibly efficient and genuinely cares about their soldiers/employees, our middle management supervises JUST enough to be helpful without being overbearing, and our junior supervisors work WITH their teams to implement new ideas instead of providing the ideas then simply watching their minions work."
What do you like about working at United States Army?
"We had excellent team work and often had family get togethers to build morale."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"No, as far as I am concerned, the Brigade headquarters is doing things well enough."
What don't you like about working at United States Army?
"I did not like working 20 hours a day at times."

"Keep up the team work and family strengthening by providing those newsletters and meetings to inform those in need."

"I used to do things that changed the world. I used to protect others."

"Clique-driven and self-serving promotions guide the organization. It's like the mob under Hoffa."
What don't you like about working at United States Army?
"Eighty percent of my time working for the Army has been spent doing lawn care despite signing up to serve in the two conflicts we've been engaged in."

"Be task driven: focus on what needs to be done, the most efficient way to do it, and those that are most capable of addressing problems."

"The people I worked with, because they made things run smoother."

"Be prepared to deal with a lot of stuff that you will not understand."

"My superiors did not like to take suggestions from the small guys."

"Listen to the little guys. They can have very bright ideas."

"The professional attitudes and the fact your job supports a real world mission on a daily basis."

"The location. I'm not a fan of the Fayetteville, NC area."

"None. The company works well in supporting and defending our Nation."

"The opportunity to help soldiers. The chance to conduct and arrange training for them."

"Be prepared for new challenges on a daily basis. Remain flexible and determined regardless of the situation."
What don't you like about working at Army National Guard?
"There isn't anything that I don't like about the company. Deployments were difficult for the family to cope with."

"Keep up the good work. Management for this team of professionals has been an honor to serve with."

"Travel, personal satification, teamwork atomsphere, making the mission happen, repairing items and making them work again"

"Be able to run 1.5 miles in 12 minutes and enjoy doing push-ups and sit-ups."
What don't you like about working at United States Air Force?
"Not a big fan of the physical training, running, lack of guts to make the tough decision from higher ups."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Make a decision. It might not be the best decision right away but have the guts to make a decision."
