"I love the people that come in. I love the guests, they are different in the week than they are on the weekend. I love the weekday guests, because you get to know them. The weekend guests come less frequently, and are not as much fun."
"The only thing I love about my job is how I work nights which accommodates my evening classes I am currently taking. As for what I dislike about this position, is how difficult it is to move from the position to a higher/different position or department."

What do you like about working at Marriott International?
"The environment of the office is always enjoyable. We created so much fun for each other."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Undestand the culture of the company and the fact that different brands of hotels in the company have different requirements."
What don't you like about working at Marriott International?
"The time restriction on how long you have to stay on a position befoer tranfering to another one."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I hope the company can provide more training for the employees who are interested in improving themselves and preparing for a different position."

"That we have great Front desk communications and work well."

"Be willing to try new things and fast on feet"
What don't you like about working at Fairfield Inn?
"The Management is corrupt and is not appreciative of us."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Stop eating pot cookies at desk and listen to us."
What do you like about working at Best Western?
"I like pressure and I like feeling that I am contributing something necessary and valuable. But here it's more stressful because my contributions don't make up the slack for everybody else (so it's falling apart) - and because doing more means my coworkers do less."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Ask the employees how the owners and managers treat them. It would also be nice to ask the workers how they feel about each other (and see how much they'll tell you). Hint: if it's anything other than a somewhat sincere he's good, then it's probably a toxic work environment."
What don't you like about working at Best Western?
"As a whole, the inconsistency between hotels, lack of rational standards and effective enforcement, and lack of watching over owners and managers to make sure they are treating their employees legally (they're not). At my hotel, my coworkers make things unreasonably difficult. They are lazy, gossip-y, have no sense of accountability or responsibility, and the only changes they will make are the ones that mean they have to work even less. We have such a high turnover rate, I have 3rd-place seniority after 3 months (and will have 2nd very soon)."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"She's new, she's still got another week until she officially takes over, so I'll probably have a different opinion in a month. But in the present state, I'd just get more things fixed (preventative maintenance) so that the front desk's (currently poor) customer service wouldn't be necessary with literally every guest to keep them from getting their rooms comped and getting complaints. Other than that, keeping on top of some issues with third party travel sites, updating some amenities... and more pressure on the housekeepers (and a higher wage per room - they make so little money ($4 a room) that I understand why things don't get cleaned)."

What do you like about working at Hampton Inn?
"The Opportunities to learn more about making the guests feel at Home away from Home. While at the same time, building a family-like relationship with the other team members."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Just be straight forward, in a respectful way. Don't tear down others in order to try to build yourself up. What's for you, will become yours."
What don't you like about working at Hampton Inn?
"Not many compensation benefits. Having to constantly perform the duties of an Assistant Manager and not receiving the financial benefits of it (I'm just being honest about it)."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I feel that the best way to get cooperation from everyone, Management should lead by example."
What do you like about working at Ramada?
"Management was sabotage; two managers in conflict with direction, unable to coordinate; computers were down and blame was present"
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"They are franchised. Each is individual. Unfortunately for me, I was at one that was more than just networked--it was friends only and do not mention equal opportunity. Beyond that, no one would have accepted their initial proposal for work. I did it because I started college for hospitality and wanted in the door to learn. Well, learning there is to know how not to treat people. There are those positions out there that should be monitored by eeoc and a few other regulatory commissions to keep them from harming innocent workers that want to learn the industry. I would not recommend subjecting people to this type of coercive environment."
What don't you like about working at Ramada?
"front desk manager and general manager were best friends but their work habits were horrible. Both wanted control but did things and told others to do things that were in conflict making others look like thye were insubordinate. They did not keep up with current events, locations, directions, how to do the job right and then tore their employees down. They did not have their ducks in a row!"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"don't sabotage the business because you don't like one of your workers; don't waste the workers' time with petty friendships and cutthroat tactics; don't buy into living like your queen and everyone else is garbage."

"There is nothing I liked about working there; it was tolerable."

"No tips to give. The hotel has changed hands since I worked there."
What don't you like about working at Lodgian?
"Poor management with little support or acknowledgement and no punishment for preferred employees."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Get your act together and treat everyone the same for discipline and rewards."
