5 I have worked for National Grid since 2009 and the company has been excellent to me. Management has continued to rank me highly, count on me to tackle highly complex projects and given substantial bonuses due to by performance.

3.8 My opinion is that people with up-to-date technical skills and practical IS project experince is resource that ever mid-sized and large company should keep in-house. I would work to bring that expertise back in house or risk a falling out with your contractors causing a void in the support of your IS platforms.

3.7 I have worked for National Grid for about a year and a half now and just like any large company, it has its ups and downs. The compensation is fair and there are a lot of opportunity to progress your career within the company. There are some processes and procedures that need updating and revamping. Being and electric company, you have to keep the lights on, so it can demand a lot of hours during storms or other major events. For the most part, it's a fairly laid back work environment.
