"I've worked at Microsoft since 2000. When I came here, it was pretty much the only place to work at if you wanted to work on software that touched billions of people. It's still a fantastic company to work for, despite the hammering it has received (some of it well-justified) in recent years. The people, the atmosphere, the managerial culture, the breadth of technologies, the compensation, the opportunity for growth and new experiences -- they are all top-notch at MSFT."

"We were hired to meet a deadline and knew that half the team would be let go afterwards. We were told that the decision on who to keep would be entirely performance based, however in the end it appears that it was based on seniority."

"I've worked at Microsoft under contract for a few years now. While they have a bit of a class system, I still enjoyed my time there. I hope to someday have a full time job with them or someone else that is as passionate about games as I am. The passion at Microsoft appears to go from person to person and in the end it does come down to the money."

"This particular part of Msft (a part of Bing I was with), from what I've seen, has a very bad, unhealthy culture and even worse management. If you're a 20-something college grad comfortable with a sweat-shop environment and managers whose 'feedback' is usually a bunch of gibberish and who under no circumstances should be managing people at any level anywhere, you may be comfortable there. Else, look for either a more sane part of Microsoft or else get the heck out of there altogether."

"Great place to work. The hours can get a little long, but the people are great and the opportunities for learning new and emerging technologies is fantastic."

"Definitely not a bad company to work for. Bing, however is a horrible vehicle for search engine advertising."
