What do you like about working at McDonald's?

"The health insurance was very cheap. Barely anything was taken out of my check for it. And because Americans are so obsessed with crappy fast food, you will have job security. Other than that, I HATED the job."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"One: don't. You will hate it. They will put you through an OJE. That is them observing you interact with customers, employees, etc. You are working. It is like an audition. They supposedly pay you for it but I never got my check for it. The OJE can be two or three days. Mine was two. I think they went back to three. Once hired, you are not trained well at all. It is either sink or swim,. These restaurant managers have too much to do and they barely have time to train you. I know a lot of manager trainees who, after 3 months of being there, only knew the register and not much else. Their training program is non-existent. If you try to say something to someone about it, they will reverse it on you and say you are responsible for your own development. How the hell do you expect someone to learn a job if no one will teach it to them Life is too short to work somewhere that is so horrible. There are other jobs. Go apply there. I only wish that I read something like this before I started with them."

What don't you like about working at McDonald's?

"A lot of things. For one, if you are a manager, you are expected to be available 24 hours a day. So, yes, you are expected to work overnights. You will not have a dating life, a social life, or a family life. They tell you that you will get one weekend off a month. I worked three and four months in a row with no weekend off, not even a Saturday. I worked all weekend. You will be working six days a week and still be making the same salary. As a salaried manager, you are nothing but slave labor. Holidays Well, if you are salaried, you work them. And there is no extra pay. Nothing. Since I was working six days a week, I never got an extra day off. Their corporate culture is very mean, petty, and backstabbing. I never met people who were so happy to set you up to fail. After two years, I left. It was the worst job I ever worked, or at least one of them. I am NOT lovin' it!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Why don't you people try working overnights See how you like serving drunk, screaming college kids, and see how you like not having a life. Then see how you develop sleep problems because of the schedule. And get rid of that stupid auto greeter! How stupid do you really think people are! Oh and one last thing: upper management needs to stop being so pretentious and taking every single thing so seriously. You serve crappy burgers and fries! You do not serve filet and lobster!!!!!"

Regional Training Manager

What do you like about working at McDonald's?

"There is a different challenge every day at McDonald's."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be patient."

What don't you like about working at McDonald's?

"I don't like being on call 24/7."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Place more emphasis on caring for people."

General Manager

What do you like about working at McDonald's?

"When I worked for McDonald's, I liked the interaction with the staff and customers."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
