"I worked at MathWorks during the Summer of 2020. I was part of the EDG group where I was tasked with the IoT team to upgrade the client libraries for microcontrollers. Great workplace environment, great people, highly motivating teammates."
"I've worked at The MathWorks as an intern and my experience as an intern was very good. MathWorks provides a good work-life balance and the people are very helpful and supportive."
"This is one of the best places for a person to start their career. They support the employees a lot with both training and proper guidance from their peers."
"MathWorks is the leading developer of mathematical computing software. Engineers and scientists worldwide rely on its products (MATLAB, Simulink etc.…) to accelerate the pace of discovery, innovation, and development. MATLAB®, the language of technical computing, is a programming environment for algorithm development, data analysis, visualization, and numeric computation. Simulink® is a graphical environment for simulation and Model-Based Design of multidomain dynamic and embedded systems. The company produces nearly 100 additional products for specialized tasks such as data analysis and image processing."
"MathWorks has a great culture and set of core values. It is a developer centric organization and places high emphasis on collaboration."
"MathWorks is an outstanding place to work. I value my MathWorks colleagues and the MathWorks culture most. I've worked with hundreds of MathWorkers across the company and I can say (save for a few bad apples) most are a great pleasure to work with and I enjoy tackling challenges together. MathWorks really is a great place to work and I give much credit to management for fostering this culture."
"The pay is very good. Its a good place to work but there is too much red tape to navigate to get work done."
"I am working here from May 2019 and learned about MathWorks and its culture. Developed an issue tracking application for log processing tool using angularJs and php."
"There is no other name in the market that can compete with the awesome product that MATLAB and Simulink is. I am a bit biased about the product since I am a huge fan of their software"
"Good company. Learned a lot here."
"Seasoned highly skilled, master or doctorate level, qualified and experienced people: stay away as much as possible from MathWorks. The company does everything, according to the needs of the CEO and his "trusty" people direct under him. Those needs are usually driven by perpetual sense of power and control. That is shown to all the other people, in the form of the passive-aggressive form of: We are doing things our own way, because they worked so well for the past 40 yrs. Managers, wake up and remove your heads out of the sand (ostrich policy). Things have changed, and there are strong players in the industry which are blowing away MathWorks. If you think that you learn something and you will just join MathWorks to gain career skills... think again. All the processes are internally developed, with no application anywhere else (Because they don't apply due to their "uniqueness"). They (processes) are mostly developed to accommodate and facilitate the upper management's controlling power (that power is eroded due to the the growing number of low paying programmers (they keep hiring) which need to be managed). MathWorks lacks the vision of the future, in a highly dynamic and growing market, where open source is becoming the norm and choice. The company refuses to see that reality due to the poor managers, who have been working there for more than 18-25 years (in most cases this was their first job after their graduation). These managers look after their personal interest. That is to get to the retirement age, with a fat check, while picking up the quarterly fat bonus. Also, if you interview for them and thinking to join MathWorks, understand that there are no promotions nor career growth. The title they give you is meaningless because they value seniority at the company. The more number of years you spend with them the more senior you are. That's why your previous experience will not count. 10 years spent within the company represent the "big threshold" to cross."
"I work as a trainer. The work is good, but the travel is a bit hectic at times. The core values include self-improvement and that is one value that made me come to MathWorks. You are always learning something new."
"Worked for MathWorks since 2011. Everything is great - people, culture, flexibility. Not a surprise that it is ranked within top 20 places to work for in the USA."
"The company is great. The working environment is quite comfortable, people are very nice there."
"I am working here since May 2013, work culture is good, nice work, a lot to learn."
