"If you are experienced, don't join if you are not sure about your manager, refuse the offer. Even if company is great, working under a wrong boss is dangerous."

What don't you like about working at MathWorks?

"Organization is not policy driven. Even though senior management is process oriented, it is hardly implemented. Technical people in leadership roles is dangerous since they are not good people managers."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Have courage to let go old timers who don't meet performance goals. If someone is fired and hired by the same manager, the manager should be monitered. He might be a mobbing phycopath."

"Fabulous work/life balance and truly great benefits. A very comfortable place to work. Really perfect for those new out of college or looking to settle down towards retirement."

"The interview process is extremely detailed and through. They really do expect well-rounded individuals, not just technically smart people."

What don't you like about working at MathWorks?

"The pay is good considering typical responsibilities, but there is a tremendously slow pace within the company. That so many of the current employees have been with the company for years there are few if any with serious outside experience. Really a poor choice for those coming in with significant experience."

"None really. Most at the Mathworks truly enjoy working there and likely do not want to change a thing. Mathworks is clearly a very successful and stable company - hence most employees have been there for years and like what they have."
