"Politics surrounding personal gain rather than consideration for what is best for the company."

"Never be complacent and assume you're safe. No one is. Also, as the economy continues to heal I hope the decisions made were the right ones to sustain the long term. I was a great leader and I can confidently say I shouldn't have been one of the ones let go."

"The quality of the product I sold, the interaction and helping with clients, the freedom to work as self employed, the high income I made as a 100% commissioned sales representative. The name recognition and reputation of Marriott."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be prepared. know all four social groups and how to sell to them. Know feature- benefit and tactics. Be positive in the interview and stick with your answers. Do not let an interviewer sway your answer or influence you. It is your interview and the answers are your. Once you give your first impression and answer to a question, live with it. After any question, take a moment to think the answer through and deliver it with conviction. Do not make up anything, for a good interviewer can see through someone faking it. Never be afraid to say, I do not know, but I will find out and give you an answer later."

What don't you like about working at Marriott Vacation Club International?

"Not having moved into management a long time ago. My annual earnings in sales were usually 2 to 3 times what a manager made. However, I could have progressed into a project directors position with my success in sales, if I would have had a crystal ball. I regret not moving up through the ranks of management."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Be realistic in new sales people who are hired and more selective in their choices. Quality sales representatives are hard to find, and hiring many to do the work of one is unrealistic. They should focus on quality, not quantity."
