"Ericsson is a global company with very advanced sales and marketing tactics and strategies. Brand marketing was always key with product and solution marketing designed to fall in with the brand - it was very structured system and it was good to work within a strong, recognized brand."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Hard work and creativity are prized, demonstrate those and you will be heard."
What don't you like about working at Ericsson?
"Ericsson is managed almost exclusively by Swedes and it is difficult to make headway against that type of organization. Marconi was always cash strapped and budgets were always very tight making it difficult to market anything effectively."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Diversify your senior management staff."

"I got to work extensively with multiple departments cross-function as well as deal with markets worldwide."

"Bay was taken over by Nortel."

"The original Bay Networks focused on a clear and simple message to customers, but eventually had a message that was too complex."

"Everyone didn't care for results. Often they were buried in details, to cover up people's lack of experience and skills. I needed a place to spread my wings and experiment... in the end, to make a difference."

"Go outside the industry and find people with proven track records and fresh ideas."
