"The honor, being cultured. working with great people in a very significant environment."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"There are a lot of good jobs in the Navy, but working in a nuclear propulsion plant is not one of them. Find a job that still gives you time to live a life."
What don't you like about working at United States Navy?
"The command looks out for their best interest and not the interest of the people they are supposed to support. Long days and hours."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Stop over thinking everything. Keep it basic and get the job done right without all the needless run around."

"I really liked the fast paced environment and how we all worked as a team to get the job done."

"I think it is a great experience that everyone should give a chance."

"I didn't really like being away from family for long periods of time, but I dealt with it because it was worth it in the end."

"In my opinion there is really nothing I can suggest, I agree with the way that they run things."

"The opportunities presented are more than I would experience at a civilian company."

"Don't ever settle for what someone tells you, have them show you in writing! Just because that's always the way it's been done doesn't mean it's right."
What don't you like about working at U.S. Department of Defense?
"The amount of work expected from so few people is completely overwhelming to the people assigned the work and for those who shirk their duties, the work is merely pawned off on hard-working people, making their lives more miserable."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Lead by example. Too often leaders ask their men to accomplish impossible tasks without the slightest thought to the actual logistics involved with completing the task."

"I liked working in a field that was challenging and required a full understanding of what I was doing."

"There really isn't an interview process for the U.S. Navy. You just have to pick what you want to do, based on the results of the test you are required to take."

"I didn't care for the environment that I was required to work in. The people that I worked for were not approachable."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Simply to be approachable. I don't like working for people who are not open to suggestion or criticism."

"In port the hours are great. There are great benefits also."

"It's all about the paperwork. Stick with it and listen to the recruiter."

"At sea you could be gone for 7 months at a time."

"They need to treat the lower enlisted with more respect and listen to them more."
