"If you are interviewing for Loyola make sure that you know the mission and that the mission is something you can also follow. The University is extremely mission centered and if you do not think that it fits your style, you will not be happy here. Also, make sure that you really want the position to which you are applying; so many people want to work at a university, but we really want you to also love the job you have here and not just be happy with any job that you might get here."
What don't you like about working at Loyola University?
"Upper management rarely expresses enthusiasm, appreciation, or interest in their workers. You hear a lot about the students, and a lot about the faculty, but staff members seem to be the step-child. This flows down from the very top levels of management to the directors of the departments making initiatives that staff have very hard to move forward."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Listen to your staff. They have wonderful ideas and are eager and excited to share and promote the university. There is a wonderful network of staff at Loyola dedicated to helping make this University one of the top in the nation. Invest in and appreciate your staff to make it even better."
