"JCI - not the long term employer."

What do you like about working at Johnson Controls?

"I liked the team of people that I worked with and the product that I helped design. But the entire group no longer works there because it was more economical to dissolve our group and move our product to another group that had no product knowledge and could not possibly make money for the company in an immediate time frame."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Look hard elsewhere, unless you don't mind being temporary and disposable."

What don't you like about working at Johnson Controls?

"The most important thing to JCI has always been the bottom line. They do not put any value in the employees that help to make the products that they sell. They never try to use other methods to make money or save money other than randomly selecting people to be let go regardless of seniority or work ethic. Often they will let people go that would be considered an asset and allow people to work that waste company time and money."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Instead of laying people off all the time, maybe you can try the following methods: pay freezes, offering voluntary lay offs for those who can afford it, cutting back on travel and other expenses, forcing people to retire who are qualified and capable."
