"The worst company I have ever worked for. There are no systems for anything. Everything is done via email or spreadsheet. Technology is the best that was available in the 1980's. Management is more focused on profit than on making investments to improve the efficiency of the company. If you want to learn how a company should not be managed before you get a real job, this is the place for you. Reporting is the most critical function in the company. You are not getting results unless you have a good report and it has been thoroughly critiqued by several managers above you to let you know what you did wrong."

"Work there 3 years, upper management is horrible, non supportive, they hide safety accidents and all kinds of environmental incidents are not shown, wrongful discharge."

"I have worked for Johnson Controls for the last 8 1/2 years. I have become familiar with achieving daily tasks as well as meeting company objectives. We work at a fast pace and are under pressure to meet or exceed our customers' increasing expectations."

"What used to be an exciting and challenging company to work for has turned into a micro-managed, top heavy, paper work driven corporate monster. Since the GWS division has been taken over, morale has plummeted, talent is fleeing and those left are spending their days trying to follow their departed colleagues. Several "initiatives" rolled out under the new dictatorship have been poorly scheduled, poorly fabricated and the field managers expected to implement them have not received the training required to make them work. It would be impossible to train them as the "teams" tasked with that training have not been properly trained themselves and have no clue what to do. The work load for the average low to mid-grade manager is insane. No less than 5 "initiatives" have been rolled out together and are in most cases contradictory of each other. Two top executives last year enjoyed $25M (that's 6 zeros folks) between them, while lesser managers received COLA cuts."

"I've worked for Johnson Controls for 4 years as part of an outsourcing initiative with my previous employer. Johnson Controls has a great outlook on where they want to be; it will take a lot of work to get there, but they are making progress despite all the management changes."

"I have worked for the company for the last 9 years, and the portion of the company that I work for has changed drastically. For the last 3 years we have constantly been going through reorganization after reorganization with no clear goal or destination. That said, other sections of the organization may have it better."
