"I worked for Jeldwen for three years. Even though they have a personnel retention problem with all levels of employees, I felt that they were trying to address the issue properly. For the personnel on the floor they realized that they were not competitive for the area and increased wages. For the management level personnel they were doing a much better job of screening the candidates before hiring them. The one area that I think they could improve on is the implementation of new equipment and products. It was done with little to no input from the end users. In my opinion and experience if the people using or making the product have an input into the equipment or processes will be exponentially better."

"The management is completely incompetent and short sighted. I was hired at the beginning of the year and was required to work mandatory overtime for weeks. Then they had a layoff. They continued to take sales orders and work us like slaves without any thought of our family life. I was rehired and was again working mandatory 10 hours daily and Saturdays. At a recent meeting our manager stated that again because of more back orders were required to work 12 hours a day mandatory. I could not work 60 hours a week and was promptly fired. HR manager is a liar and does not care about the employees. He tells new 2nd shift employees that they can move to first shift when they get hired and then tells them they can't move to the other shift. The new management and HR has bungled the factory so they cannot keep employees. They fired many managers people and can't figure out how to project sales to have a reasonable turn around time. So instead, they work the employees like animals and require unreasonable hours, i.e. 4:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and because it is one of the only places to work in a rural area a lot of employees are stuck."

"Start over from scratch, work smarter not hard, stop running your business with old school practices. Get with the program."
