"Worked for IBM for over 3 years. The compensation is great but the technical environment is less than desirable. Individuals are promoted to high technical positions based on their expertise and success in a particular area and then given responsibility for decisions on technologies they have no applicable knowledge or experience in. There is a dearth of system-level control and management in a very large and complex project with many groups that develop solutions on their own without any coordination or formally defined requirements. There is a lack of software engineering skill and knowledge - al lot of hacks."

"The company allows flexibility and provides resources to excel. We have a solid team environment and most of us work remotely within our division. Direct contact with our managers and receive solid feedback when needed. Salary is competitive, however, they could use a better bonus structure."
