1I have mentioned several times (at one point alongside five other coworkers), both verbally and in
writing, to management and multiple tiers of the Human resource department the environment I am
subjected to working in is strife with disparaging remarks, sexual harassment, vulgar language and
hostile and threatening actions (slamming desks, using offensive language and slurs against patients and
coworkers) I do not feel these unhealthy conditions prevalent in the office make for a conducive work
environment nor do I feel I am able to work under these conditions for much longer. I also do not feel
reasonable solutions were put into action to prevent these instances from occurring going forward or to
provide a safe and respectable working environment for me after these problems were reported. As I
have made several attempts to rectify this situation over the last two years and have been unable to
resolve it through dialogue or action with Houston Methodist, I believe I have no other option but to
resign.
2.5Primary Care Group in this area is not physician or patient friendly. Culture is hyper-corporate; overly focused on irrelevant metrics, unrelated to patient care. Attitude toward physicians disrespectful, condescending, and belittling, especially toward female docs and docs with experience. Unwilling to provide adequate staffing, leaving physicians’ licenses at risk and at high liability. Not responsive to patient care concerns. No clinical oversight. Overall, not conducive environment to caring for patients-just concerned with extracting as much as possible from their doctors, leaving them burnt out. Avoid.
4.6The organization cares for the patients and the staff members. Staff members are recognized for their excellent work. The patients are satisfied with the level and quality of care rendered by the employees regardless of their position. The CEO/President of Methodist genuinely cares for the employees and he is very generous with bonuses when situations warrant it.
