"Worked at H&D since 2003. Company has changed ownership 3 times in that 10 years. Now owned by a NY hedgefund. Sales Director's leadership skills consist of - Sell Something. Was brought in by CEO, (ex Co-worker of CEO). Sales Division reports to SVP of HR.... talk about a conflict of interest. Company seems to be pulled in numerous directions at the same time."

"The company lives and dies by a 6 week period of sales."

"Purchase additional companies to offset the seasonal dependency."

"Be honest, have an open schedule, be outgoing and personable with everyone, love food and cooking."

"Hours, working holidays, no free time."

"They need to come up with a more fair schedule"

"This was an okay job. I like the company, however, as time went by the company was not senitive to family issues."

What do you like about working at Harry & David?

"I enjoyed working with and establishing new and exsisting client base. I was promoted to store trainer for new managers coming into the company as manager trainees. I could not take this position at the time due to my children were very young and I had to travel. I was a single mother at the time."

What don't you like about working at Harry & David?

"I didn't like that the company wasn't family friendly. I had to move forward."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"For upper management. Family comes first. If a manager is always stressed about their children, how will the manager ever give her/his best performance. Managers shouldn't have to choose, I know sometimes you have to make sacrifices as a manager, but there is a line you just don't cross."
