"Great place to work with a lot of perks. Low compensation since everyone wants to work there. Google has the ability to pay low because they can. Free food! They have so many perks that they don't want you to ever leave. Lots of positions available though very hard to get in. Overall, I would recommend this company."

What don't you like about working at Google?

"As a contract worker, I was not allowed to be included in many work areas. I had limited knowledge of what was going on beyond my direct responsibilities."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Allow a little more responsibility, and create a path for contractors to become regular full-time employees."

"Don't do it. Or, if you must, then relocate to Mountain View. Avoid the Santa Monica Google office."

"IMO, I dislike incompetent management bungling projects. IMO, engineers are compelled to sit and do as they are told even when they believe that the wrong direction is being pursued."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Create a flatter organization with fewer managers. Allow different approaches to a solution to be heard and evaluated without using intimidation to suppress alternate points of view."
