"Great place to work with a lot of perks. Low compensation since everyone wants to work there. Google has the ability to pay low because they can. Free food! They have so many perks that they don't want you to ever leave. Lots of positions available though very hard to get in. Overall, I would recommend this company."
"I was part of the group that maintains a stable data center, which has subdomains across the country. Maintain, test and improve the network and infrastructure, switch and routers configuration, mail, dns, proxy, firewall, VMware EXSi, Active Directory, also monitoring all those services in the data center. Check and delete vulnerabilities in the network founded with the Nessus software and BackTrack suite. Working with Load Balancer using RedHat Piranha, cluster configuration with Apache."
"Been working here for 2 years so far."
"I've worked for Google since last 3 years. It was good working with Google."
"Google is a great place for new college grads where code is fresh in your mind. The interview process is hard but fair so brush up on Binary trees and don't bubble sort! Do not try to bs your way through this interview as they smell fear there and will eat you up. Make sure that if you talk about something on your resume you can back it up because they will grill you. And most of all Practice, Practice, Practice before you decide to apply for a job. Also it is hard to get promoted there as well."
"I am working at Google from last 2 years."
"Working at Google right after High School was amazing. Spent 2.5 years there which helped me through a private college I attended while I lived in the dorms for 2.5 years."
"Perfect company, and everyone loved to work."
"Testing Chromebook - os, policy, fw. bios, hdd, power, networks, bluetooth."
"Good but really poor pay rate for the tasks that were asked of us."
"Google is an American multinational corporation specializing in Internet-related services and products. These include search, cloud computing, software, and online advertising technologies. Most of its profits are derived from AdWords. Google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were Ph.D. students at Stanford University. Together they own about 16 percent of its shares. They incorporated Google as a privately held company on September 4, 1998."
"Great benefits, great pay. No career development. Entitled and arrogant coworkers. This company has some incredibly smart people and the problems they can solve are immense. The internal infrastructure for solving problems and build applications is the best I've seen. Don't plan on anyone helping you with your career though."
"It's very good, I like this job."
"Not sure I'd recommend anyone who wants a job at Google if you're a contractor or vendor. They treat you like 2nd class citizens."
