"I have been with Giant Eagle for about 9 years, and it was a wonderful company to start working for, but in recent months since leadership has changed so many times, there is a lot of corporate turmoil and uncertainty with where the company is headed. They do offer great benefits, decent salary, and they promote a work-home life balance that is hard to find in retail leadership positions."

What do you like about working at Giant Eagle?

"I enjoy the challenge of customer service and I like working at a company that has enough money overall so that on occasion we are allowed to give customers items free of charge."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Do not be a shy person. If there is one thing all of the people I work with have, it is loving to socialize and meet new people. Also you need to be adaptive and willing to accept changes in the daily routine often."

What don't you like about working at Giant Eagle?

"I constantly come up with ideas about how to improve systems in my local store, but my supervisor and manager seem to just want to get in and get out and not mess with it."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"If I were running the show, I might instate a program at the local level where employees could voice complaints about little things, like supplies or customer concerns."

"They always seem to be hiring so relax it is just a part time slightly above minimum wage job."

"There isn't anything that I hate about the company. We get the job done and try to make the most of it."
