"Stay away from the credit department! In 1 year and a half they had 16 people quit, including temps. If a contractor quits, you know there's something wrong. And don't bother going to HR, they clearly choose sides. You are severely under paid and over worked."

"6 permanent employees left in a matter of a couple months in a credit department of 10 people. The company is good - just stay away from the credit department in their corporate headquarters. They are good at playing nice but just wait. Their turnover speaks volumes. Steer clear! They overwork you and are completely unorganized! They play favorites and treat people like kids."

"They hire kids out of college as management. Mega pay without any applicable experience or people skills. They plan to run the place with charts and graphs. Move ups if you don't have a college degree you aren't going anywhere but out the gate. All slide of hand engagement and classes for you to take. Which only succeeds in taking away time that you should have spent getting your job done. Now guess what, you're behind. They don't care. As long as your useless programs are done."

"There are frequent management changes and we often have very inexperienced senior managers running the division that are being groomed for advancement. They are not good at managing people."

"Respect others experience. Listen to your good employees, not the squeaky wheel."

"Working for Gerdau can be like drinking from a fire hose. These are the words given to us by senior management the day after the company was sold to them."

What don't you like about working at Gerdau AmeriSteel?

"Too much bureaucracy, which slowed down decision making. Reporting and initiatives were overdone."

"Work on simplifying the Gerdau Business System and cut back on the initiatives. Many of your people are overworked and the is not a lot of balance in their lives because of it."

"The company as a whole is great to work for. They have a good bonus program."

"just be yourself and be confident in your answers to questions. There are a few good managers there."

"do not like the fact that people are held responsibe for things that happen even when they are on vacation and have no way of finding or fixing problems."

"Do nont put people on probation then ask them what they need from management to properly perform their job. Then deny them the abilty to do the things they need to the job."

"No up word growth at this plant, I dont want to move out of the contry to advance."
