"Geek Squad is an amazing company to work for. You will learn many things about customer service that one simple over the phone position cannot do. You will also learn about proper documentation of items taken care of in a professional environment. There is room to move up, but you have to be more motivated, and might need a few certificates to be looked at. The pay is okay, compared to local competition. Agents need to be paid more per hour, because more agents leave the job per year."

Working at Geek Squad in Fort Worth, TX: 1 Employee Reviews

Lead Technician

"Get the experience and get out."

What do you like about working at Geek Squad?

"It was kinda fun to help people, and if the right managers are working it can be fun."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It's not really for professionals. It's for people in the beginning of their careers, or the beginning of a particular line of work (if you've gone higher than the retail side of it.) Really tho, it's a bootstrap - don't let them brainwash you."

What don't you like about working at Geek Squad?

"You have the same problem you have most places, the retail managers think they are real business managers and get a god complex because they control the lives of over a hundred people. They stop caring and begin to treat everyone like they are in high school. The wrong manager can make the job completely unbearable, rather than just making it a strain."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Treat Geek Squad personnel as you should: Like they are skilled professionals. If you DO end up hiring kids off the street to do the work, and then never treat them like adults, you will lose your best people time and time again. If you stop, and treat them like the huge production/profit makers that they are, and give them some respect(as they are often very intelligent) then you can make yourself more of an icon of knowledge, rather than incompetence."
