Donald and Doris Fisher opened the first Gap retail location in 1969, to meet Donald’s need for a better fitting pair of blue jeans. The company’s current CEO Glenn Murphy along with 134,000 employees work together to design, market, and distribute Gap apparel worldwide. The Gap Inc. runs 3,100 retails stores in over 80 countries, primarily in North America.
