"For as long as I have worked at Gamestop I have had more good times than any other job I have been employed at. It has had its rough times but they are very few and far between. My fellow co-workers are very knowledgeable of their product and are happy to help any and all customers. The overall environment is just a wonderful place to work."

Working at Game Stop in Santa Ana, CA: 1 Employee Reviews

Store Manager

"Great place to work but not all fun and games."

What do you like about working at Game Stop?

"I love video games and felt that I was a part of an industry that was changing entertainment. I enjoyed the challenge of running a store."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Now that this is a serious company that is very focused on the bottom line as it should be. During my time there I interviewed many people who thought that the job consisted only of playing games and talking about games. It can be a fun place to work if you keep in mind that you are a sales person and manager first and gamer second."

What don't you like about working at Game Stop?

"Job became a series of threats about losing your job for not meeting goals that I considered unrealistic. The company expected growth in sales of about ten percent while opening many new stores, a lot of which competed with each other for the same customer base."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Try to manage by positive reinforcement a little more. Don't allow district manager to try to intimidate managers with termination on a regular basis."
