GAF Materials is a major manufacturer of roofing and building materials. Established in 1886, the company grew dramatically with the invention of asphalt sheeting, a product that revolutionized the process of roof installation. In later years, GAF expanded into roofing membranes, leak barriers, slate roofing and asphalt shingles. It is now the largest roofing materials manufacturer in North America.

GAF has its headquarters in Wayne, New Jersey. In addition to roofing materials, the company also markets siding, iron and ductwork. GAF's 26 plants are complemented by a large network of residential and commercial roofing contractors that assures customers of high-quality, professional installation. In recent years, the company has developed a line of "green" products aimed at environmental sustainability. GAF's revenues exceed $3 billion annually.
