"One year was was enough. Excellent benefits & but thats about it. What you are promised the values the ESS dream its all fake, unless you are in a position above the DM status. Nepotism and favoritism run rampid. You are a underpaid janitor, sales clerk, insurance agent, and banker. Security is a issue as well you work 75% alone in a huge property where anything can go wrong. If you have a problem be weary of the HR department and what ever you do dont point out where the company needs change. Open door policy Ha thats a joke. There have been numerous threats of harm and death threats from bad renters this is Proven documented as well all you have to so is look, read and ask around. Policy change needs to be made but corporate will spin a tale that they are looking into it. The have not looking into change for over 10 years and the same situations arise. Corporate will always choose the customer and saving themselves from Bad PR or a poor Google review before they put the managers first. As for change write a letter and you get interrogated, criticized by HR director herself and you can bet you last pay check on retaliation. Because if will be your last one if you speak out and self advocate. If you have perfect history not one write you you will find yourself having 3 or more within one month so they can legally terminate you. Heck they will even go looking for things that are 8 months old that were never made a issue nor mentioned as a problem but it sure is a problem now. Oh yes I nearly forgot the company is needing 152 managers within a 30 day period alone. And NO they didnt grow that many sites over night people are quitting left and right! Do yourself a favor when job or career hunting. Pay attention to the few BAD reviews rather than the mutli shining ones. This company pays and rewards employees for good reviews. Most 4 and 5 star employee reviews are fake. Do yourself a real favor keep on looking do not stop do not pass go do not apply to Extra Space."
