"I worked as an Illustrator for the weekly TX section for and by high school students. I only got one assignment per month, and I was only paid $30 for each assignment, but I suppose it's good experience for a high school student. Looking back on it now, I was better than the other illustrators (there were 3 of us on staff) and I think it would have been better if there was just one illustrator."

What do you like about working at Examiner.com?

"It is nice to make your own hours, and just write when you are able."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you love to write and care more about having a larger potential audience than making money, you will be a great fit. If you want to make big money and are good at promoting your content and finding your own advertisers, you would likely make more money by creating your own blog."

What don't you like about working at Examiner.com?

"It seems like you would have to do a lot of writing and promoting to make a living wage, probably more than is reasonable to expect even from a person who wants to be a freelance writer for a living. The pay seems to be calculated differently at different times, so it can be hard to predict what you might be able to make."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I think writers could probably make a little more money per page view."
