"I am here for my people! If I can cause one person to change a habit or action to ensure they depart work at the end of the day with the same number of fingers and toes they arrived with, then I have made an accomplishment. The work is extremely challenging and constantly changing... If you do not read a LOT or take continuing education you are doomed to failure! Be proactive, stay current and be extremely flexible! This is a "Fire Fighter" position until YOU get a good culture in place. Once you develop a good, safety conscious culture, you can work on your plans and instructions. Until the culture is there you will be running from one event to another to "put out fires" and one must be intelligent and willing to put in the hours these situations demand."
