What do you like about working at Ecolab?
"It used to be a good place to work. As long as you don't challenge management, there seems to be potential to advance."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"If you absolutely must, take the job for a year or two. Enough time to put it on your resume. After that, get out before they bleed you dry."
What don't you like about working at Ecolab?
"As time goes by, you discover that the customer means nothing. When you try to stand up for an ethical decision, there are all sorts of people blocking the way, from supervisors to the plant manager. Managers say what they need to, to your face, but nothing is ever done about the problems. There is also a culture of treating others with disrespect, that is tolerated by management."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Care about your employees. If they want to be there, they will work harder for you. Make sure they feel appreciated and motivated. That means no favoritism. It's pretty simple!!!"
What do you like about working at Ecolab?
"Benefits. Working with and providing solutions for customers."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Think twice."
What don't you like about working at Ecolab?
"Company seems to be heading downhill fast. Management poor. Ecolab seems to be driven only by sales. No long term planning. Terrible employee morale over last year and going down the tubes daily. Management doesn't care about employees. Extremely poor work-life balance. Things have changed dramatically for the worse. I've been an employee for more than 9 years now, and have decided to look for another job, due to the way this company is being managed. It's too bad, since working at Ecolab was once fun and seemed like a good career. Unfortunately, not anymore."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Actually care about and ask for feedback from employees. Adversarial, leadership by fear attitude doesn't work. Get back to what made Ecolab a first rate company once - providing the best possible service to customers. Way too much focus on short term sales initiatives and cost cutting measures. If we actually went back to doing good work and caring about the customer, we would gain much more business long term."
What do you like about working at Ecolab?
"Good benefits. Strong customer base. Quality products. High growth potential."
What don't you like about working at Ecolab?
"1950's management style. 1950's business strategy based on service. Sales driven. Lack of structure. Too much middle management. Lack of focus."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Let employees use the new Flex-Work program for work/life balance. Stop letting Sales run the company. Boost marketing efforts and build a strategy to replace the dying service strategy. Boost HR efforts to keep good talent while supporting continuing education. Offer competitive salaries."
