"Worked at Eaton for 6 years and the company is behind the curve on sales management and sales process. If you are an engineer then this is not a bad place but they do not value commercial skills. This company is focused on manufacturing widgets and believes they will sell themselves."

"Undergoing a takeover with mixed results. Added complexity and additional layers of management hampers business decisions with delayed decision making and missed business opportunities. Large employee turnover due to uncertain business environment and new company management team."

"Great place to work. Lots of opportunities. Working experience greatly dependent on the group that you work for. Overall, a traditional manufacturing mentality with a Fast Follower attitude."

"I spent 25 years at this company so it was good for the company and myself."

Eaton Anonymous Employee
in Sarasota, FL

"Everything about the place is terrible. There isn't a lot to like about working there."

What do you like about working at Eaton?

"Good pay and benefits for the area. Most of the actual workers are good people trying to do The Right Thing but are reluctant to do so when they know their jobs (and the ability to support their family) are on the line."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you like Back Porch Politics and behind the scenes Handshaking, this is the place for you. If you like working for 8 to 12 hours a day in a concentration camp-sweatshop environment, please submit your resume. If you can get along with a Plant Manager that implemented and promotes a fear culture, you belong on our team. If you have a sense of Integrity and Honor... if you raise the flag when something isn't right... if you question the status quo.... Eaton Sarasota IS NOT the place for you."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Quit wearing blinders. Don't just look at the Metrix and think that all is well. Look at HOW those results were achieved. Fair treatment across the board. If it is ok for salaried personnel then it is ok for everyone. If the average worker has to comply so should the people who work on the carpet. Make the Plant Manager and his Staff not only Talk It but Walk It. If they won't then toss them."
