"At the time they had acres and acres of land throughout the Antelope Valley. Looked like a future could be made there."

"Be patient and do your job."

What don't you like about working at D.R. Horton?

"It is a public held company. Although this is fine, there someimes seems to be too many hands in all operations."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"If I ran the show, I'd like to eliminate all middle-man operations."

"I was in the Custome Home division and they built a great product."

What don't you like about working at D.R. Horton?

"Not enough high end products."

"I loved working for them untill they started putting making money over customer service and quality. That was what made it a special place to work"

"I was never bored, the work was challenging, the people friendly."

"Be yourself."

"The chance of the economic turndown in the homebuilding industry would cause me to lose my job."

"Very organized within the company, it was fun taking a branch that was at its worst and getting it to be the only branch in the region to earn a proffit."

"Be serious about the job and the training they provide. They were a good company to work with."

What don't you like about working at D.R. Horton?

"Regional manager would not step in when entire staff complained about the branch managers unprofessionalism. This was a trend in that whole region."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I believe they are all gone now, be a better judge of characture when hiring branch managers"

"I was only a short term contractor brought in to help with underwriting government loans, as I have both my Chums and my VA LAPP/SARS."

"To be more present and involved."

"Layoff due to the investor's predictions in the stock market."

"Hope they get back on tract with their production jobs. I would like to work with them again."

"The employees they hire are really friendly and family oriented"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"This company is all about the success of their parent company, DR Horton. They focus on quarterly reports, year end and stock ratings of the builder. It's not about DHI's success, but their builder's success and your mindset must be focused that way to survive."

What don't you like about working at D.R. Horton?

"It's all about DR Horton's stock ratings. DHI works their employees to the bone when it comes to quarter end or year end DR Horton reports. Don't ask for time off or vacations in September as that is DR Horton's year end and they really push to get homes off their books. DHI does too many favors for their DR Horton builders that would not be allowed with other lenders. It's hard to get on that mentality after being with lenders that aren't dictated by the builder. They can't seem to separate the two companies."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Quit doing knee jerk reactions just to make DR Horton stocks look good. Let DHI Mortgage survive on it's own and not be dictated by DR Horton. These two companies are intertwined way too much!"
