I did mark Senior Management with 4 stars however getting it to 5 stars will take some investigation about the practices of some of there top people. I did see how things were hid having worked in 3 locations. I did see some of the greatest leadership and some of the worst. When a C class contractors get contracts based on the performance at the house of a V.P. rather than by overall price and performance there are issues. When your 50% high and still get the job over an A class contractor there is something wrong. I was once even told by the contractor that he did not need to meet the schedule and because my boss and his boss were buddies I would have to deal with it. The management needs to understand that being a door keeper of a billion dollar company has responsibilities to its share holders over the pool in there back yard. I understood that everyone wanted to be my friend for the obvious reasons and relationships are important however relationship will get your to the table but price and performance is what will get you the job not what you offer to do for me on the side.
Quit doing knee jerk reactions just to make DR Horton stocks look good. Let DHI Mortgage survive on it's own and not be dictated by DR Horton. These two companies are intertwined way too much!
Hire personnel to help grow the company versus hiring individuals that maintain the same outlook. The company had difficulty adjusting with the market and could not see far enough ahead to save money. The same individuals are transferred from one division to another and change is never incorporated.
