2.3Worst employer I've ever worked for!! On paper, their culture and mission statement all look good. For a while I thought this is somewhere I would like to work for until I retire. But quickly I learned of the major issues plaguing the organization: cliques, bullying, petty gossip are widespread. This is not isolated. It is truly rampant. Also, don't expect to work with the same advanced-trained professionals you find at University and GRU or even the VA. The employee turnover is huge and they end up hiring mostly fresh out of school professionals for positions which usually require more training. Sometimes they hire before the person is licensed (they hire as still students in order to retain them upon graduation). This is actually what attracted me, because I wanted to get ahead more quickly and saw opportunity to get a position I would not get elsewhere yet. Big mistake I regretted daily until I left!! Managers are really just in their very first leadership position, and most of the time very under-qualified. So the only good time Doctors Hospital is a good fit for you is if you need a "stater job". But the heavy stress and pettiness in there are hard to describe. I was miserable everyday and I know this was not a case of isolated event. In my department, we've had directors leave 3 times in 6 years and haven't had a manager for a long time. So the staff took turns being the clinical manager!!? Never have I seen that before anywhere else that staff are qualified to leadership position (clinical, no less!). So they are also each others boss every so often. Use your imagination for the level of pettiness and backstabbing that can happen when staff is basically self managing without direction. Oh, schedule is also CRAZY! If they tell you they are hiring for a certain position and a certain shift, expect constant changes. They are chronically understaffed and their scheduling is very unorganized. I worked there for a little over a year, and I am so relieved I left!!!
