"People from each department worked well with each other. Heads of each department were professional and thoughtful."

"I was required to move to Texas. At that time, I wasn't in a position to make that move."

"Research AT&T's current objectives and leverage that into your resume, cover letter and interview answers."

"As long as you are not reporting to Ellis or on level under this place is the best in Ohio to work at."

"I've worked for two DRS divisions, in each case I was laid-off from another dept because the development of the product/s for which I was hired fell far behind their original schedules (by years!)."
What do you like about working at DRS Technologies?
"The company worked a 9/80 w/every other FrI off - kept my sanity! Otherwise - I wish I only had to work a 9-hr day the rest of the 9 longer days!"
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"It's a solid company, my comments relate to the two divs for which I worked. Sales at the first one dropped to the point it lost division status and the product lines have been absorbed by other DRS divisions. Other divisions are close to being in the same boat, ask good questions - understand where products are in their life-cycle and what's on the horizon."
What don't you like about working at DRS Technologies?
"The engineering dept at the two divisions I worked at had not philosophically transitioned from a sole-source govt contractor model to the new fully-competitive environment defense mkt environment. Development projects fall behind while the company waits for customer funding, in the meantime, competitors are displaying working prototypes. The company at the group and corp level needs some reconciliation. There are divisions addressing the same markets with similar products in competition with one another. Corp exec mgt needs to establish clean, focused and delinated technology and market roles. Not to do so causes confusion, squanders resources and creates internal distrust."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Bite the IRAD investment bullet and make HUGE up-front, short term investments (and convince corp to do allow such) to ensure development of major (bet the division) products will be on the market in 2-3 vs. 5-7 years."

"Great people both within the company and customers. Also exciting customer base with new challenges"

"didn't weather economic downturn very well. Too far leveraged into unproven technology that didn't pan out"

"If you are an experienced executive recruiter you can make serious money here if you work hard."

"Restructure your comp plan for account managers to attract better talent on the front end and reduce your turnover."
