What do you like about working at Best Buy?
"I loved being forced to work 60-65 hrs/wk because the delivery system only accounted for the # of stops on the route, and not the # of items being delivered. I also loved being threatened with a write-up because I was forced to NOT work because I would've went over my DOT law allowed hours."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Don't just be in awe because it's Best Buy. See how the mgrs interact with the associates, and customers. I had a lot of fun working there, but it did come with a price. Also, be prepared to be destroyed on Black Friday. I've seen associates break down and cry before walking out (still crying), and mothers fighting (literally hockey-style fighting) to get the last MP3 player. Nightmare does not even come close."
What don't you like about working at Best Buy?
"For the delivery team, it was all about the customer. Which is fine, but you can't expect a team to drive from Jacksonville to Marineland, then have to come back to the store because somebody forgot to tell us about the next day deliveries that never got loaded on the truck, then drive back out to St. Augustine to continue the route (2 hrs behind schedule because of the mix-up)."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Put people in management that can do their jobs. When our store grand opened, it was amazing. Every manager (except for mine) was right on point. A little unconventional at times, but we had an understanding. Then, after a few months, all the dept mgrs were sent to other stores and idiots took their places. Also APPRECIATE YOUR DELIVERY TEAM. WE HOLD THE ENTIRE STORE TOGETHER."

"You will make money, but schedule is very erratic."

"Erratic schedule, safety(climbing on top of pallets in trailer, working hand truck down wet, slippery ramps."

"Split shifts are hard on me and the fact I have no benefits package."

"Just have an open schedule and work the hours you can and then you will get the schedule you want."

"The management can sometimes be overbearing on the workers and not take personal lives into account when making decisions."

"Don't be so strict to your workers and make them work more hours if they don't want to."
