"Yes, you meet people who are excited to plan their weddings. But the majority of the clients are entitled and self-absorbed. Their bridal party isn’t all that different either. The moms are the worst. If you have good people skills and an ounce of empathy in your body, then this is the right job for you. For me, personally. Well, my motto is, “Fake it ‘till you make it.”."

"The interviewing process is very long and be prepared to emphasize your selling ability."

What don't you like about working at David's Bridal?

"You can have multiple clients at the same time and have no time to relax plus you must do everything yourself with little or no help when busy and they are almost always busy. You must also keep track of your commission or others can take credit for your sells."

"Be more attentive to employees needs and provide better training."

"Be honest during an interview...If you're going to be damned, be damned for who you are"

What don't you like about working at David's Bridal?

"With the exception of the CEO the management beneath him but above store level have rarely worked in our stores...not promoted from within...and seem to be lacking in a true grasp of how our stores work"

"Understand who you are managing. If you know where the people beneath you are coming from, it makes for a better manager/employee relationship"

"Enjoyed working with my sales associates, and developing them to be a great bridal consultants. Enjoyed working with brides and helping them to select their dream gown."

"The company lacked people skills. We all know that business is business, but you must have some kind of appreciation toward the pepole that work with you. I felt they did not care about anything but the bottom line."

"Relax. Respect the employees and care for them and they will do a lot more for you."

"It's a fun retail company to work for, but when it comes to management decisions you just have to go with the flow and not let yourself get frustrated."

"The management style, a non-team oriented tone is set from the top."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you take any other position such as Bridal consultant keep in mind that you get paid minium wage plus commission. You only make commission if you sell a required $3000 in merchandise so market the most expensive dresses so you have at least a chance to make more than the minimum."

What don't you like about working at David's Bridal?

"The hours were never consistent. Some weeks I would work 32 hours but then majority of the time I only had 8 hours a week. I couldn't afford to go to school and work because gas prices were just to high at the time."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"For as much work that came with the CSR position they should really consider increasing the pay by at least $2."
