Covenant Health System Overview

Covenant Health System is a hospital and provider of health care services based in Lubbock, Texas. Covenant Health System should not be confused with Covenant Health Systems, a network of hospitals and assisted living facilities associated with the Catholic Church.

With 1,500 hospital beds, Covenant Health System is the largest health care provider in the west Texas/eastern New Mexico region, serving a population of 1.2 million people over 62 counties. The nonprofit network employs over 700 physicians who oversee over 100,000 emergency room visits and 38,000 acute hospitalizations annually.

The network owns four of the community hospitals in its network, and manages an additional 14. The network also administers 20 health care centers including specialty units such as the Covenant Heart and Vascular Institute, Covenant NeuroScience Institute and the Joe Arrington Cancer Research and Treatment Center. Covenant also operates Schools of Nursing, Radiography and Surgical Technology.

Salaries are competitive with health care salaries in the region, which is to say they are lower than in other parts of the United States.
