"Costco does not value higher education! They offer nothing for tuition and do not value certifications or degrees. There is good old boys attitude that confuses careers with being employed."

What do you like about working at Costco?

"It is not too hard to get a day off when others are willing to cover shifts."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I hope you like every job there is because you will be put into a department you might not even applied for. If you end up not liking that department then you should just stay there for over 5 years to maybe change departments or quit. Seniority rules all, and you are just one of hundreds."

What don't you like about working at Costco?

"They're so big that they treat their employees like numbers instead of names. They claim to have an open door policy yet they're too busy to talk half of the time and when they do talk they usually just go over rules and regulations instead of making an effort to help the employee. They can't expect an employee to be efficient if staff members can't even rely on their managers for help."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would let people work in the departments they like, instead of having a staff where several are in an illogical department."

"Awful place to be an employee. It reminds me of slavery without getting beaten. I would not recommend anybody work at Costco. No work-life balance. Pay is terrible for what you have to put up with, managers are so narcissistic."
