"I was able to use my product background, but in a different manner, working the finance department."

"Really, nothing. I was contract, so not part of the normal interpersonal management/worker bee issues. It was enjoyable to just watch the dynamics."

"Far to much emphasis put on the quantity as opposed to the quality of services provided."

"Providing cost analysis of a persons future medical care should be undertaken with a great deal of due diligence on the part of the cost analyst. Rushing those services can have a detrimental effect on the end user and will ultimately expose the company to unnecessary liability and future litigation."

"The work was fulfilling; there was always something to do."

"Ask for complete job description BEFORE agreeing to accept the job; and that means knowing who you will be working for and what their expectations are in specific, detailed language."

What don't you like about working at Southern Company?

"There was NO recognition for any accomplishment; there was ALWAYS pressure to do more in less time; there was NO effective support from management; and there were always at least two bosses that had to be pleased, each with conflicting priorities. After working and doing my best for two full years, I was summarily fired, even though over half of the people I worked for were pleased with my performance."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"If you matrix someone to another part of the company; make sure the receiving department fills out the performance reviews."
