"The Over the Road (OTR) lifestyle is not for everyone, but Steven's Transport makes it as enjoyable as possible with flexible time off, generous benefits, and the freedom to do your work as you see fit as long as the end customer is serviced satisfactorily. Make no mistake, the hours are long and the work will wear on you but for a company as large as Steven's they do their best to make you feel at ease and a part of the team."

Contractor at Chesapeake Energy
in Oklahoma City, OK

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"Chesapeake is in the headlines every week - OK's most morally bankrupt company"

What do you like about working at Chesapeake Energy?

"I liked the work itself, which was standard office duties"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be willing to sell your soul. Be willing to sacrifice your self worth and any sense of enjoyment you may wish to gain from a job. Convince yourself that the practices of Chesapeake (take a look at any newspaper/news site for their latest scandal) are acceptable."

What don't you like about working at Chesapeake Energy?

"Everything within Chesapeake buildings are grey, white or black. It is the most bleak, most depressing atmosphere I've ever worked in. Thee is absolutely no sense of company culture. I have no clue how Chesapeake has earned such a good reputation as a company to work for - it was by far the WORST employment experience of my life. We were forced to work in an active construction zone, constantly ruining clothing by having to step in wet paint (!!!!), grout (!!) and other materials. I ruined two pairs of shoes in their gravel (unpaved!!) parking lot. Many people got INJURED simply entering the building (this is an office environment, we aren't field contractors) due to the casual nature of the construction crews. I never once spoke to another co-worker. Seriously, you're not allowed to! No socializing what so over. Everyone is miserable always complaining. The money was decent but it is NOT worth your happiness."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Allow workers to socialize, get rid of the construction, add some color to your building. I felt like I worked in a mental institution with only grey and white walls!"

Contractor at LipoScience
in Raleigh, NC

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"Surprised that anything gets done here"

What do you like about working at LipoScience?

"The majority of the people at the company are fantastic - pleasant, easy to get along with, and so on."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Depending on the position, you may have a great experience at Liposcience. If you take a position where you would be working on QA controlled stuff, be prepared for a lot of red-tape."

What don't you like about working at LipoScience?

"The company exhibits decision paralysis. Projects require meeting after meeting, upper-level management is brought in to have input on minor technical details for projects they have no qualifications or experience dealing with on a technical level. There is a lot of second guessing of highly qualified people by employees who don't have an understanding of what they second guess. Top-notch, qualified people aren't likely to stick around in this type of environment."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The QA and change process is overly burdensome. It needs to be streamlined at the very least, or even better, scrapped and redone. Also, get a real change management system and stop using paper for the process. If you want to be the big boys, look to the big boys for guidance and drop the this is the way we do it mentality that crops up."

Contractor at Servalsoft
in Tigard, OR

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"The experience is extremely positive and educational."

What do you like about working at Servalsoft?

"The owner and I are long time friends from back in 2003. I appreciate that I can work remotely and I have learned almost all of my web development skills from him and he has been in business for over a decade. There are typically no dead lines unless a client is explicit about them. I like the freedom I am granted while working projects. I can make changes to design, suggest alternatives, or improve the projects I am a part of pretty much based on my decisions alone so long as the client agrees."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Having knowledge of iPhone development is very attractive to the owner. However, the owner is unlikely to hire anyone in the near future as far as I know."

What don't you like about working at Servalsoft?

"It is occasionally difficult to get my boss' attention when I run into snags. He also works a 2nd job full time doing iOS development so I typically cannot get a hold of him unless it's on the weekends."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"There is really no suggestions that I feel comfortable making. The company is owned and operated by one man. I guess if I had to suggest something I would ask him"

What don't you like about working at Computer Sciences Corp?

"I did not get a lot of support as a contract employee."

What suggestions do you have for management?

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop the double dipping. Once an individual decides to leave (retire or otherwise) they should not be able to continue working there. Every individual that has left (including retired) and came back, does so with an attitude that makes it difficult for everyone else."
