"I was able to help the children and families of Chicago deal with a devastating health issue: lead-based paint."

"I would only suggest to those interviewing for a job that you ask if the job is grant-funded. Grant-funded jobs are not necessarily permanent and can end when the grant runs out or not renewed."
What don't you like about working at Chicago Department of Public Health?
"Due to budgetary control and politics, sometimes meaningful services for the citizens of Chicago would be reduced or eliminated."

"Sometimes there seemed to be bureaucratic red-tape that would delay, hinder or eliminate implementing or approving services."
