"Umm...its close to home. It allows me to the ability to go home for lunch and eat lunch with my family."

"Just need to come in with head knowledge on the industry. Be confident in yourself."

What don't you like about working at Consol Energy?

"Stagnant, no growth opportunity unless you are willing to ignore your family and personal life. Need to do a lot of sucking up to be in the good 'ol boys club and then move up and you need to play major political game too. No innovation, nobody wants to listen to any ideas you may have on improving the company."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Oh! Where do I start!! First, I would reinstate employee raises and lower my own pay. Showing my commitment as the leader of the company. I would also bring back the monthly safety gifts. I would promote new strategies with the HR department. Things like personality assessment test, Myers-Briggs, DISCS, etc. Get people plugged in to where they are wired for."

"Money, Stability, 90% tuition reimbursement. Money"

"Most of what you hear in the interview is a lie."

What don't you like about working at Consol Energy?

"The amount of time spent there. At least 9 hours per day and six days a week. Money is no good if you don't have time to spend it. Shift work. Incompetent managers, most of the time only the lazy ones are promoted. The communication between corporate and the mine site is terrible. What every you are told in the interview, take with a grain of salt. Zero appreciation for higher education (masters ect.) managers don't want you to have an advantage over them. Managing workers that make twice as much as you. Unfair pay raises"

"Better communication with corporate. Treat your employees better"

"The will not pay for quality employes, have no qualms about having you train and underqualified employee then fire you, and have them replace you."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"You cannot operate and Oil& Gas company like a coal company, they are completely different and cannot be run in the same fashion"

"It allowed me to deal with new aspects and new types of formations that I had not previously been working with."

"There was not a whole lot of work as an intern that I was allowed to do."

"Pay attention to suggestions that people give to help production of wells."
