"This job was outside of my normal profession. They called me a computer tech, but I was really more of an librarian."

"There was a lot to put up with, very low pay, and zero chance for advancement."

"Modernize methods; Get out of the 1950's; Try new things!"

"Lots of Red Tape, Very old deisgn requirements for devlopments of various sites/technologies"

"Casual dress code. Mix of physical and mental work. Chance to solve problems. Reasonable activity level (more busy than not). Feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day."

"There can be long periods between assignments - feast or famine."

"This is a non-profit. It's great helping others."
What do you like about working at AmeriCorps?
"I volunteer as a computer literacy instructor. I get great pleasure in helping my adult students learn how to use the computer as a tool for information and how to navigate the internet."

"Just be yourself. The people here are friendly and devoted to what they do."
What don't you like about working at AmeriCorps?
"As a paid volunteer, I do not make much money which forces me to seek employment elsewhere."

"This non-profit is run very efficiently. It will be, very shortly, consolidated into one location (there are 4 locations). Once consolidated, there may be a need to reorganize how things are run. Until that time, I have no suggestions."

"Stability and Compensation are sufficient. I also like the job security that this company offers."

"Know the technology well and try to get a contact on the inside."

"Retention policy is lacking in that there is nothing in place to compensate employees for their achievements."

"Increase compensation according to employee achievements. ie Certifications, degrees, etc."
