"The salary was good for the industry. The employee discount was good. The store was very appealing to the eye."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't take the job but if you are forced to do so. Get EVERYTHING in writing pertaining to payroll, hours and expectations. Especially payroll. This will be your worst nightmare."

What don't you like about working at Coldwater Creek?

"It was the absolute worst work experience of my life. The amount of hours REQUIRED for salaried Store Managers was absurd. Store sets were done before or after store hours and we were very limited in the amount of payroll we could use. There was an unbelievable amount of gossip within upper management. Overall, it was just a terrible terrible place to work and I wouldn't wish it on anybody."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Go back to the catalogue business."

"It should have been a better experience. It is located in a beautiful place, although isolated. Fashion is a dynamic industry, multi-faceted."

"Include an escape $ plan in your deal.Stints are short-lived and if you're not careful, you'll find yourself stranded in the North Idaho forest."

"One of the most toxic environments to be found. Could have had a positive, upbeat energy. Instead, it is negative, fearful, intimidating and awful--at nearly every level."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"It starts with management. It starts with placing value on people. Everyone works better when he/she feels valued and secure. No good can come from feeling like every day could be your last and the grim reaper lurks in the hallway."

"I loved working with the people. I also enjoyed the challenge of coming up with new ideas of how to attract business to a brand new shopping center that was unestablished. I also enjoyed the weekly management meetings and planning storewide meetings as well as the training and mentoring of employees. Lastly, I liked the competition among stores through data analysis and visual floor settings."

"I do not really have a tip; rather, I would just keep in mind the stte of the economy and see if their growth expectations are in line with this."

What don't you like about working at Coldwater Creek?

"I liked most everything about Coldwater Creek. I was sad to have to leave but due to economic hardships the company was forced to restructure and my position was made part time."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"My suggestions for management would be regular feedback to employees as to meeting their performance goals. In my case, the manager just acted as if everything was fine and never let anyone know if there was something they could improve upon."
