Additionally, they operate 4,000 stations in 100 cities through their Premier Radio Networks programming. Clear Channel Communications was formed in 1972 by Lowry Mays and Red McCombs in San Antonio, Texas. They formed the San Antonio Broadcasting Company, which later expanded into Clear Channel. In 1984, the company went public and in 1992, Clear Channel expanded into the television market. Today, the corporate headquarters are located in San Antonio, Texas and Clear Channel Communications operates in 45 countries around the world.
