What do you like about working at CIT Group?

"The small company like environment in corporate america. Also, the managers were very flexible and always open to balancing your work/life schedule, provided you completed your work in a timely manner. As an employee, I couldnt have asked for a more open minded management team."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Good luck, and enjoy your time at CIT. It was a great place for me to work. I only left because it was on a decline and layoffs were on the horizon."

What don't you like about working at CIT Group?

"Very limited growth potential at my location. Did not provide training that would allow me to grow further. I sometimes felt like I was being pigeon-holed."

"Offer more opportunities to your younger workers. They'll stay around longer."

"The team atmosphere that existed before the bankruptcy, compensation is slightly above average."

"Research the management of the department you are interviewing for. If you don't come from the same company as them, don't waste your time. With a complete, top-down management change, there is no longer any loyalty to the rank & file."

What don't you like about working at CIT Group?

"New departmental management has no respect for the people that were faithful through the difficult years and no desire to listen to anyone they did not bring on board themselves."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Look at how the new department heads are compromising the company values and losing the historical knowledge by their contempt for the staff, especially in IT."

"The people, global company, position, responsibity and the salary was good."

"Need to be organized and flexible. Responsive to changing priorities."

"Unorganized and a lack of clear direction. Leadership changes makeo it difficult to know expectations."

"Hire more people increase team work better project management and increase exposure."

"The People...simply put, the people I work with are great."

"Keep focused and don't expect fast growth...it could be a long while..."

What don't you like about working at CIT Group?

"There is very little room for advancement. There are already more chiefs than need be which leads to there being a stale mate when growth comes as they get shuffled around."

"The environment needs to be more cutting edge....like Google. Lets make work a fun place to come to."

"The flexibility of the job was tremendous. We all felt like we were in control of our own job fate."

"Be aware of where CIT intends to go as a company."

"CIT downsized in 2012 and so the company wasn't very stable."

"Better strategic planning and field communication. The company didn't notify the sales force of their eventual intent to downsize."

"Overall, it's a good company to work for. It is a large company, so you can expect a decent benefits package and an established set of policies and procedures that are regularly updated by various levels of management, legal, and HR. Due to the structure of the company, there are times when certain decisions and promotions may be delayed, as the decision has to be approved by a number of people within the chain of command. One downside is that, as a lower-level employee, your work is less likely to be recognized or rewarded and more likely to become a positive evaluation of your department managers."
