"Give a summary of all the position situations you did for your restaurant. Some of the managers spend their whole life worried about management in what they think instead of putting your heart into what you feel can make a difference in your unit and employees. The truth and approaching your superior with new ideas that work is far more than not saying anything."

What don't you like about working at Chevys Fresh Mex?

"I was always working on projects and getting the unit in order that I never thought of any negatives. I build catering sales to 20k a week and the Regional canceled the program. I felt that was wrong and bad decision in management"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"There is always the professional management who have the special thing to create and motivate employees, implement programs in sales that work, and keep the unit in the top 5. Sometimes that professional manager can do more for the Regional"

"Chevys provides a great opportunity to enjoy working in a fast paced and festive atmosphere. Generally speaking you will be working with and around upbeat people which deffinetly plays an important role in facilitating a good work environment. Chevys also trys to keep up with competition and is regularly implementing change which can present the excitement and challenge that go getters enjoy! Early on in a career with Chevys you will find much to be proud of especially with regard to the unique freshness of the menu and the freshness standards."

"Get it in writing.....5 day work weeks, vacations etc..."

What don't you like about working at Chevys Fresh Mex?

"There is very little opportunity to move up in the company based on merit in fact it is very difficult to move up at all. The biggest struggle that Managers face is an obvious and drastic disconnect between unit level managers and Upper level managers. Expectations/ Systems and standards are often quite unrealistic which facilitates a somewhat chaotic and frustrating environment. Work relationships can become very superficial very quickly as a GM realizes what is needed to get through the days and weeks in the real world and how to get things done while keeping upper management happy by faking through the overwhelming amount of detailed and task ridden administrative work. Many GM's w/ the company agree that it is no longer restaurant management and coaching but more clerical and cover your back style work. Another hardship brought on is the lack of stability and constant change and misunderstandings regarding direction and standards. Chevys seems to get ideas thrown out to the floor all to often before working out the kinks and visiting other avenues."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"A very simple fix! EXIT INTERVIEWS! and regular one on One feedback from unit level to Upper management. Not once did anyone come to me and ask if I was happy or what I thought could make things easier!"
