"CGI employees have a balanced work/life mix. It's easy to talk to management and they're pretty much responsive when you need them to be. People are very nice and friendly and try their best to help new members. Decent benefit, lots of fun events and a lot of useful training courses."

"The executive level decisions seemed to lack a clear vision, so we often ended up tacking back and forth from emergency to emergency."

"Be slightly more thoughtful before committing resources to a new idea, and make sure you support the systems that are already working."

"The people and the clients. They are what make coming to work all worth it. There is great commeraderie (sp). And once the relationships are established with the clients, everything is that much easier and falls into place, whether its negotiating a contract, trying to resolve a dispute, or trying to remedy a system problem."

"Ask a lot of questions. Culture, work ethic, opportunities may require additional information."

What don't you like about working at CGI?

"Extermely political and no clear career psths for those who desire one. Not everyone is satisfied doing the same thing over and over for the next 20 years. Although CGI has many members who are more than content with that lifestyle, I am not one of them."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Listen to your employees, encourage your employees, reward your employees. Allowing them to remain employed in a competitive job market isn't always enough."

"I liked the work that I was able to do, the knowledge I gained about the field, and the accountability of the position."

"The answer is always the clearest and most logical one you can think of quickly. If you're testing something, try to break it and find out where the break occurs so it can be fixed: like a bone."

What don't you like about working at CGI?

"I had mutual differences with my project manager. I did not like working under someone that openly admitted that he loathed his job and refused to coach or highlight areas for opportunity."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would suggest to closely monitor the project managers. They are the direct connection with the client, and my project manager had little to no knowledge or involvement with the products we were testing, writing for, and communicating with clients about."

"Focus more on your overall knowledge and what you do know not what you don't know. They really look for people who can learn and grow, not just someone who has all the skills in the resume already."

"My last project was 80% travel , traveling Mon. - Thurs. That made it difficult to have a life."

"Put more effort into retaining talent, especially younger talent."

"The actual people who did the work, not the glory hound supervisors who would walk over you. Supervisors were completely reckless off base."

"Incompetence of supervisors and front line management. Working 12 hour days, 6 days a week and only getting 1.25 OT for over 48 hours."
