"This was a great place to work before the CEO left and the new CEO was paranoid."
What do you like about working at Wet Seal?
"When I joined the Company, I was able to do my work independantly and was given a free hand to deal with the underwriters and outside accounts for the IPO. The road shows were awsome."
What don't you like about working at Wet Seal?
"After the CEO who hired me had a falling out with the Board of Directors, he resigned and the Board brought in another CEO who was very bad to work for. He always thought people were stealing from the Company and treated employees and customers badly."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Don't think you know it all and listen and trust your employees to do a good job. Be motivational."

"One of the primary criteria that the owner uses to judge potential employees is tenure, if your resume reflects several tenures less than 4 or 5 yrs it will be viewed as poor reliability regardless of the reasons why."

"The owner employs several family members who's sole responsibility is to watch the office personnel and report back to him. The subjective observations made by the family members usually results in terminations and a constant revolving door."

"Ask for a written employment agreement. You won't get one, but that will give you some indication of what to expect if you elect to accept employment there. Good luck!"

"Owner was a tyrant, verbally abusive, cheap. Company lacked organization, internal control procedures were a mess, accounting system was archaic, communication was prehistoric."
