"If you start as a contract engineer you have a small chance of being hired full time even after a number of years and especially if you are older."

"Contract employees are treated like second class citizens. Caterpillar's diversity and inclusion program is exclusion to Cat employees only. Even safety issues are sometimes not addressed if the boss thinks it's too much trouble."

"You are squandering a lot of good ideas from your contract people and needlessly creating a difficult work environment for a large part of your work force."
